3. a conference for intentional living communities
What does it mean to build, live in, and sustain community? How might we do it better?
On March 17th, 2018, I organized and hosted the Emergent Communities conference at the Red Victorian in San Francisco.
The Bay Area is home to hundreds of co-ops, communes, and intentional living communities, but it's rare that we get the opportunity to connect in one space. Emergent Communities brought folks together who participate in the creation of these communities to share knowledge and co-create. The theme was 'impact.' What impact can we have together across living communities, and what can we share with those in our homes and beyond?
Topics ranged from the tactical - how do other houses do it? - to high level questions about the role of co-ops and living communities in society today. You can find our session notes here.
